WASHINGTON, DC — Congressman Darin LaHood (R-IL) announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation awarded to the Springfield Airport Authority $803,568 for the runway removal project at the Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport.

I am pleased to announce that the U.S. Department of Transportation awarded the Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport over $800,000 to support their work to upgrade the airport and runway removal project,” said Rep. LaHood. “Investments that we make in our airport infrastructure ensure safe and reliable infrastructure and generate economic growth. In Congress, I will continue to work with colleagues to strengthen Illinois’ infrastructure and transportation system.
