Rep. LaHood Joins Bipartisan Group of Lawmakers to Introduce Tariff Legislation
Representative Darin LaHood (R-IL) joined his colleagues Reps. Ron Kind (D-WI), Mike Gallagher (R-WI), and Jimmy Panetta (D-CA) and introduced the Bicameral Congressional Trade Authority Act of 2019, legislation to require the president to submit to Congress any proposal to adjust imports in the interest of national security under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962. -
LaHood Returns to Ways and Means Committee, Named to Tax Policy Subcommittee
Rep. LaHood will remain on the House Ways and Means Committee for the 116th Congress and serve on the Subcommittees on Tax Policy and Oversight. The oldest committee in Congress, Ways and Means is chief tax writing committee in the House of Representatives; and it holds jurisdiction over trade, any revenue-raising measures, Social Security, Medicare, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, and foster care programs. -

Legislation to Honor Fallen Army Ranger Joshua Rodgers Signed into Law
President Trump signed into law legislation introduced by Congressman Darin LaHood to rename a Bloomington-Normal, Illinois, U.S. post office in honor of U.S. Army Sergeant Joshua Rodgers. The bill, H.R. 4326, was unanimously passed in both the House of Representatives and the Senate and will rename the U.S. Post office at 200 West North Street in Normal, Illinois.
