Thank you for your interest in applying for a nomination to one of our nation's prestigious military service academies. The 16th District of Illinois has a rich tradition of sending young leaders to attend a service academy. One of the great honors of representing central and west-central Illinois in Congress is nominating and meeting young men and women who are willing to put service before self. While we can not hold our in-person service academy days, the following page is dedicated to providing prospective students with the resources needed to learn about applying to a service academy. As always, my office is here to help you along in this process. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to call my Peoria district office at (309) 671-7027. I look forward to seeing you all soon! - Darin

Military Service Academy Virtual Welcome

Instead, of our normal academy days, Congressman LaHood is pleased to host a “Virtual Academy Day” here on his website! This informational forum will provide interested students in grades 8-12 the opportunity to learn more about our nation's service academies, requirements for admission, and the selection process. Students and their parents are strongly encouraged to view the individual presentations from academy reps and graduates, congressional staff, Western Illinois University ROTC, and the Department of Defense Medical Exam Review Board (DODMERB).
