Washington, D.C. – Congressman Darin LaHood (IL-16) released the following statement on his vote to formalize the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden:
"I believe it is time for the House to take the next step in the Biden impeachment investigation. As a member of the Ways and Means Committee, we have found significant wrongdoing and preferential treatment by the DOJ and IRS through hours of whistleblower testimony. Additionally, the Oversight Committee has uncovered records that indicate the president may have received laundered foreign money from his family's influence peddling scheme. Lastly, the White House and certain witnesses have refused to cooperate with the investigation or comply with subpoenas. The American people deserve to know the truth and formalizing the impeachment inquiry will help the committees of jurisdiction compel additional evidence and documents and put Congress in the best position to hold the Biden Administration accountable."
