WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Darin LaHood (IL-18) released a statement following the news that joint recovery operations to find five missing U.S. Marines, including Daniel Baker of Tremont, has ended and the missing Marines are declared deceased.
“It is with a heavy heart to learn that the U.S. military announced that the recovery operations to find the five missing Marines has concluded and that those missing have been pronounced deceased. My prayers are with Daniel Baker and his entire family in this most difficult time. Having spoken to Daniel’s family earlier today, I was able to share my condolences with them directly and learn even more about the incredible young man and leader that they have raised. We are grateful for the sacrifice Daniel gave on behalf of our freedom and we are forever indebted to his service to our nation.”
