Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Darin LaHood (IL-16) issued the following statement on President Trump’s first 100 days in office of his second term.
“In just 100 days, President Trump and House Republicans are delivering on the promises we made to the American people,” said Rep. LaHood. “The Trump Administration is successfully securing our southern border, deporting violent illegal immigrants, and protecting our communities. His leadership has put our foreign adversaries on notice. President Trump’s national security team is bolstering our defense and cyber capabilities to counter the Chinese Communist Party and moving forward with maximum pressure on the leading state sponsor of terrorism—Iran.

House Republicans are working to extend President Trump’s historic 2017 tax cuts, eliminating fraud, waste, and abuse in federal spending, and growing our economy. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act created the best economy of my lifetime. We must extend these tax cuts to ensure hardworking American families, small businesses, and farmers will be able to thrive.
