Washington, D.C. – Congressman Darin LaHood (R-IL) released the following statement after he voted in favor of H.R. 6126, The Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act, which provides aid to Israel in the wake of the Hamas terrorist attacks:

"The United States must stand with the State of Israel in response to the barbaric terrorist attacks by Hamas on October 7 - the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. The Israel Security Supplemental Appropriations Act provides needed funding to Israel for the Iron Dome defense system, advanced weapons systems, and ammunition, while ensuring our own military readiness is not impacted. I am proud to support this as an important first step in assisting our ally Israel. However, it is critical that the Biden Administration continue to support Israel as they seek to eradicate Hamas, that all hostages held by Hamas in Gaza be released, that support for humanitarian aid continues, and that we stand strongly against the rise in antisemitism accelerating throughout our country."
