PEORIA, IL — Congressman Darin LaHood today called for the release of the memo detailing alleged abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) made by the FBI and Department of Justice (DOJ). These alleged abuses are related to the special counsel’s investigation of Russian influence in the 2016 election.
“Abuses of power by government agencies are serious matters, and the public has a right to know about them. That is why I have written a letter to Chairman Nunes requesting that this memo be released, following all of the necessary steps to ensure that doing so will not impede the ongoing investigation. The allegations in the memo are disturbing, and only through transparency and accountability can this investigation maintain the trust it needs and deserves.”
