WASHINGTON, D.C.—Representative Darin LaHood released the following statement after being sworn in for his second term representing the 18th Congressional District of Illinois in the House of Representatives for the 115th Congress:
“I am humbled and honored by the responsibility of representing the residents of the 18th District of Illinois and being their voice in Congress. This upcoming session of Congress holds a historic opportunity for us to chart the direction of this great nation, and I take that seriously. It’s time to get to work reforming our tax code, our broken health care system, our burdensome regulatory system, and our out of control federal spending. We must strengthen our economy, improve our infrastructure, facilitate good job creation, and bolster our national security. It’s time to get our country on track and I look forward to working with President-elect Trump and the Senate to advance these priorities and address the concerns we face as a nation.
