[[{"fid":"344","view_mode":"full","fields":{"format":"full","field_file_image_alt_text[und][0][value]":"","field_file_image_title_text[und][0][value]":""},"type":"media","attributes":{"style":"float: right;","class":"media-element file-full"}}]]Peoria, IL—Congressman Darin LaHood (IL-18) announced today the names of twenty -two remarkable young men and women he has nominated to be considered for admittance into the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, or U.S. Air Force Academy.
“I am proud to nominate these young leaders from communities across the 18th District for admission into our nation’s military academies. After reviewing their credentials and speaking personally with them, I have no doubt that each and every individual on this list would represent their country, state, and hometown with honor and respect. It is inspiring to meet so many young people who have substantiated dedication to serving our country. This competitive and outstanding group makes the future look brighter for America, and I wish them all well in their next steps,” Rep. LaHood stated.
Nominees completed a rigorous application process conducted by a selection panel including veterans and Central Illinois community leaders. The United States service academies will inform these finalized nominees regarding their admission over the next two months.
