“Our new CIA Director, John Ratcliffe, in his confirmation hearings, talked and advocated for more aggressive offensive actions to counter the CCP’s growing influence around the world,” said Rep. LaHood. “I believe this approach needs to be extended to the cyber domain specifically, to better allow the U.S. to leverage cyberspace capabilities and to safeguard our national security…Last week, the cyber security company, CrowdStrike, released their global threat assessment, and it's really alarming. They found a 150 percent increase from 2023 to 2024 for PRC-related cyber threats across all 23 sectors that they track, ranging from the defense industry to financial services to telecommunication and everything in between.”
