“The 18th District has had a strong history of producing cadets that uphold the highest character entering our nation’s most prestigious academies. Last year, I was honored with nominating 22 candidates. It is inspiring to meet so many students who have substantiated dedication in serving their country with honor and respect. These Service Academy Nights provide a great first step for prospective cadets to become informed and help prepare for the process ahead,” stated Rep. LaHood.

The Academy Nights allows area students, parents, and guidance counselors the opportunity to learn more information about the institutions and the congressional nomination process. Service academies offer fully-funded, four-year education that is estimated at a value of $300,000.
