“Each year, it is inspiring to meet with so many young men and women looking for the opportunity to attend one our prestigious military academies and who are passionate about serving our country. Service Academy Nights provide a great first step for prospective cadets to learn about and prepare for the interview and application process, including the requirements for Congressional nomination. I look forward to the next group of young leaders ready to build upon the strong tradition of representation the 18th District currently holds throughout our military academies, ” stated Rep. LaHood.

The Academy Nights allow area students, parents, and guidance counselors the opportunity to learn more about the individual institutions and the requirements for admission to each academy, as well as talk to Congressional staff familiar with the application process. Service academies offer fully-funded, four-year education that is estimated at a value of $300,000.
