LaHood Announces Grant Funding for Cass County Health Clinic

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Darin LaHood announced today that the Cass County Health Clinic received $1,538,847 in grant funding through the Department of Health and Human Services Health Resource and Services Administration’s (HRSA) Health Center Cluster program. The funding will support workforce expansion, professional development, and continued primary care services including opioid prevention and advanced telehealth.

"Community and federally qualified health centers have been on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic protecting our rural communities and providing high-quality healthcare services," said Rep. LaHood. "As we continue to navigate this pandemic, the funding awarded to Cass County Health Clinic will support their ongoing efforts to provide mental health services as well as support their workforce. In Congress, I will continue to work with my colleagues to support community and federally qualified health centers throughout the 18th District of Illinois."

Background: 
The grant provides supplemental funding to existing Health Center Program operational grant (H80) award recipients to increase access for underserved populations to high-quality primary health services like integrated behavioral health services, prevention and treatment of mental health conditions, and substance use disorders (SUDs).
