“I am proud to nominate these young, dynamic leaders from across the 18th District for admission into our nation’s military academies. This year, 10 of the 19 counties from the 18th District are represented, providing a diverse class of nominations spanning all walks of life. After reviewing their credentials and speaking with them personally, I have no doubt that each and every one of them will represent their country, state, and hometown with honor and pride. It is inspiring to see so many young people with a desire to serve, and I wish them all well in the next steps ahead,” stated Rep. LaHood.

Nominees completed a rigorous application process conducted by a selection panel including veterans and central Illinois community leaders. The United States service academies will inform these finalized nominees regarding their admission over the next five months.
