PEORIA, IL—Congressman Darin LaHood recently passed a constituent casework milestone, completing 2,000 requests for assistance from individuals in the 18th District. As of today, 2,007 cases have been closed. Since taking office in September of 2015, constituents from across Central and West-Central Illinois have contacted LaHood for assistance pertaining to federal issues in numerous areas, including veterans’ affairs, IRS issues, passports, Social Security, and Medicare.

“Since coming to Congress in 2015, I’ve believed that this job all comes back to providing the best constituent service to the citizens of my District. That is why I am proud to announce that 2,000 constituents have found resolve in navigating the federal bureaucracies by contacting my offices,” said Rep. Darin LaHood. “Whether it has been constituents frustrated with IRS requests, or obtaining Social Security benefits due to them, immigrants working to become U.S. citizens, or veterans working to get the proper care they deserve at the VA, my offices have been able to work hand-in-hand with constituents to help them in their time of need. This position is about helping people and it is my hope is that this milestone is a reminder that my offices can be a resource to any individuals seeking assistance at the federal level.”

LaHood currently has four district offices, located in Peoria, Springfield, Jacksonville, and Bloomington. Constituent Service Representatives regularly hold mobile office hours each month at various locations across the district’s 19 counties to meet one-on-one with constituents and review current cases or open new cases.
