NORMAL, Ill. -- Connect Transit celebrated a new and improved bus route for folks living in in the twin cities.

Connect Transit said the new system includes updated routes where buses will now make stops more often.

They will also offer Sunday service for the first time ever.

Connect Transit said they made changes based on a year's worth of input from the public.

Not only do they think riders will appreciate the changes, they said it's creating jobs, too.

"We are looking to add jobs as well, about 37 jobs, most of them drivers," said Andrew Johnson with Connect Transit General Manager.

Congressman Darin LaHood was also on hand for the event and joined officials for an inaugural ride to celebrate the launch.
